Tonight Jason has been gone for hours. He's visiting a family in distress, a ward member in the hospital, and one in the Cache County jail.
Being a Bishop is a lot bigger than I thought. It takes more time, and is more draining than I realized. Jason has literally aged in the 8 months he has been Bishop (don't worry- he's still totally hot), but does all his work with a cheerful heart and so much love for each member of the 9th ward. I feel so lucky to be his wifey. Somehow he takes care of all of us at the same time, and I don't know how he does it. But I'm grateful. And I want him to know he's doing a good job. At all of it.

I removed my last comment because it didn't make sense. I will try again. I wanted you to know I understand the sacrifice it is to have your husband gone all of the time to help ward members. I also know that there are blessings to be had by you and your family for making such a sacrifice. Thanks for all you and your husband do for the ward!
Well he's not as hot as "mon mari" but he is in WAYYYYY better shape! Ah Ah Ah. I liked his suit too yesterday! That was stylish!
Anyway that's not what I wanted to say! I just want to say that there's no better example for the boys than a dad who is taking his calling seriously. They will dedicate their life to the Lord because they saw BOTH of their parents do it growing up. (now that was the official version)
Unofficially, it sucks to be by yourself a lot! And not have your best friend around more often esp. when he already travels so much. I really admire your strength and positive attitude. But one day he'll retire and think about it. You won't have kids at home and your Jason for yourself ALL THE TIME. Then you will wish you could go back to work and get a break from him!
Anyway...the truth is to make an awesome bishop one needs an awesome family support system! You;re doing heck of an excellent job!
Do you need chocolate and ice cream??? Just I just stop my post here? :)
I love you Brooke. I'm 37 going on 50!
I bet it is more than you thought! I think of you often, taking care of your little boys when he is out doing bishop stuff! :)
Brooke you are AWESOME and its your blog, so blog away and you'll feel better. Its not an easy job but in the end it's character building and all those other great things that others have already posted. In my observation your biggest strength is your positive attitude, that is a huge plus and that is why you are super AWESOME. :-)
send me your email at paulattoledo@hotmail.com so that I can add you to my blogging list. I went private. it was time. paula
Well at least he can't lose his hair from all the stress & no one will know if it's turning him grey!
OH Brooke. I can't even begin to imagine the sacrifices your family makes for your husband to serve. It takes a very special woman to be the wife of a Bishop. I know your family will be SOOOOOO blessed. Luv ya!
