NYC!

Um. Sorry about Mr. Jay-Z's language, but the song is too perfect for this post! (Justification at its finest.)
Jason and I just got back from an awesome trip to the Big Apple!  What an amazing trip.  We seriously tried to do it all!  Of course we couldn't do everything, so we'll have to go back.  I can't wait to take my kids there.  This is us on the Empire State Building, which was a really, really cool building.
Here's the lobby of our very chic hotel, Hudson Hall.

I L.O.V.E.D the window displays at Bergdorf Goodman.

We ate many pretzels.

Here's a loooooong subway escalator.
King Candy at Toys-R-Us in Times Square.

Yes, we even made it onto the David Letterman Show.  And I really mean it!  We were caught on camera!  We're famous now, so if you want our autographs, take a number.

Our hotel room.

The Statue of Liberty, because a trip to NYC would be incomplete without it. Seriously, it was beautiful.

And a little cold out on Liberty Island.

Ellis Island's Immigration Museum was absolutely beautiful and deeply touching.

It has been beautifully restored.

Ground Zero was truly a humbling place to visit.  The temporary memorial there is so powerful.
We went in many a church on our trip.  They were all glorious.

Momofuku Noodle.
I know I'm behind the times just barely seeing Wicked for my first time.  But oh, how I loved it!
Our hotel was just around the corner from Central Park!

Jason enjoyed a Cel-Ray (celery) Soda at Katz's Deli.  Home of the famous scene from When Harry Met Sally.  You know the one.

The bridge that was named after me.
Spotted some yarn art on Broadway.
Jason flashes his Wall Street signs.
Lots of subway riding...

The NYC Public Library. Totally, totally, amazing.  Worth a return trip for sure.

Noone got hurt on the set of Spiderman the night we went.  I was almost sick with worry the whole time.  All the stunts and the set were amazing. But it was long.  Really long.

A day filled with artistic wonders.

Gaugin
Warhol

On of my all-time favorite paintings!  Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth.

The crown jewel of all the artwork we saw was Starry Night by VanGogh.  I have taught many an art class using this painting as the subject.  Seeing it in real life was such a treat.  It is even more beautiful in person that I could believe.

Out a window at the MOMA.

VanGogh was a genius.

On a walk above the Hudson River.  We went to an out-of-the-way museum called The Cloisters one day.  It was incredible.  It houses all kinds of Medieval artifacts.

Lots of walking done on this trip.

Inside The Cloisters.
Gorgeous statue.

Here is Jason and some dinosaur bones at the American Museum of Natural History.  I can't wait to bring the kids here!
We had cold but clear weather until our very last day when we woke up to snow! (This was our view to the West.) We were very nervous that our flight would be cancelled.  But miraculously the snow stopped just long enough for us to get home.

I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am right now. Troy and I have talked about going for years and haven't made it there yet. We'll just live through your experiences for now :). Glad you had an amazing trip.
