Fortunately, Swimmy survived at our house for over a week, so that is good. Unfortunately, I found him floating in the bowl this morning, so that is not good. And with that short essay on the circle of life at the Lamberts', I bid you good day.
Good luck with the fish thing. It is quite the experience :) When we started our tank we pretty much lost a fish about every other day for at least a month. Try explaining that one to the kiddos. They learned really quick not to get too attached.
