He was gone for a year, and he was so missed by one and all!!!!
He came home by way of Nairobi, and brought home awesome gifts from Mom and Dad...
Even though he was exhausted from the flight home, he packed up with the boys for an overnighter to White Pine Lake.
After a delish American favorite: Arby's. Okay, I was embarrassed to have that be his first meal home with us, but it was chaotic getting everyone ready to go, okay?
I'm sad I don't have any pictures of their trip on this computer... I will have to get them from Jason. But it happened to be the night of the hugest lightning storm of year the night they went to White Pine. Luckily, they made camp just before the rain started, which was lucky because it was also dark by the time they got in. It poured buckets all night, but cleared up by morning, and the world was shiny and new for them. Even Mr. Jake carried his backpack in all that way. Awesome job, fellas.
And then, just a couple of short weeks later, we were saying goodbye again, as he embarked for his next adventure: grad school at Western Washington University in Bellingham. Maddox drive-in was our final supper together (for the time being).
With Brookes and Jessie. |
Here's Harper freaking out because she's afraid of Uncle Lee. But don't worry. Today, 6 months later, as I'm typing this, Harper says, "Dat's Unca Wee. He's da aweseomest." |
