Mud Flats, Logan Canyon, August, 2012

One Saturday we decided to take the kids mountain biking. By mountain biking, we mean drive the Cruiser up the mountain, have a picnic, and ride bikes down. This is a great method when you still have tiny 4-year-olds mountain biking with you.
I'm glad this picnic site looks pretty in photos.  It was not.  It was incredible dry and dusty and bug-infested due to all the fallen dead trees around.  This is at the top of Richard's Hollow, where they have been reconstructing a section of the trail.  It was SO DRY and HOT, no wonder they state was burning up last summer. But you make the best of it, right?

Ooooohhhhh, poor Harper wanted to ride with the big boys SO bad.  Maybe next year, little sis.

Jason and I alternated driving and riding the bike on the way down with the kidlets.  It was fun.  Finn was fishtailing all over the place in the gravel!  Yikes!

As always, kids and adults are happier after a good outdoor adventure.
